Instructional Media Initiatives Focusing on WNET.org, Thirteen, and WLIW21: The New WNET Studios at Lincoln Center in New York City

INTRODUCTION

WNET.org has recently opened new production studios at the corner of West 66th Street and Broadway in New York City at Lincoln Center. WNET.org continues to innovate and develop first-rate programming for its viewers. This article describes the initiative and the benefits to the public.

THIRTEEN AND WLIW21 AT LINCOLN CENTER

A ribbon-cutting ceremony recently revealed exciting new studios at Lincoln Center. These street-level and second floor-studios will enable the public to see tapings of WNET. org programs, both new and familiar broadcasts of the station, directly from the sidewalk outside Lincoln Center.

Visitors to the area will be able to view tapings of the new news and public affairs program, Need to Know, and other programs such as SundayArts and MetroFocus. In addition, the public will be able to see introductions and "cut-ins" for Reel 13 and Great Performances.
