The editorial advisers, staff and the publishers of JDC are indeed much delighted to receive the news from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) that they have recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate to Professor Nora Quebral of the Philippines. The name of Nora Quebral is very well-known to the fraternity of Communication World, especially development communication. The role played by her in institutionalising development communication is not only significant, it is rather unparalleled. The recognition of Nora Quebral's contribution to development communication is also a reflection of the acceptance of development communication by social scientists as an important discipline of social sciences. We are confident that readers and contributors of JDC will join us in congratulating Nora Quebral and wishing her all the best.

In this issue of JDC, Sarah Ryan's article, "The Paradox of Teaching E-E as a Heuristic for Homegrown Change in Rwanda" is a good study of a student project in Rwanda. The article would reveal many aspects of rigorous habits of mind required of skilled practitioners.
