Applications are available now for the PDK Education Foundation Prospective Educator Scholarships.

Prospective and current college students are eligible to apply in a variety of categories:

* High school seniors who are members of the Future Educators Association [TM] and intend to major in education;

* Children or grandchildren of current PDK members who intend to major in education;

* High school seniors intending to major in education who have a letter of reference written by a PDK member;

* High school seniors sponsored by his/her local PDK chapter; and

* An undergraduate member of an FEA or PDK chapter who is enrolled in a college of education program.

Actress/humanitarian America Ferrera of "Ugly Betty" fame will give the closing keynote address at the 2012 PDK International/Pi Lambda Theta National Conference in Baltimore, Md., Feb. 16 - 17. But preceding her will be a panoply of speakers who will highlight the most interesting and innovative education ideas and concepts:

* Lillian Lowery, Delaware education secretary, will address the changing role of state education agencies;
