Project Highlights

* The objective was to create a renewed science complex to support an agile, entrepreneurial faculty, facilitate interdisciplinary theme-based research, promote the intellectual "collisions" of an energetic student body, provide an infrastructure to support modern scientific research, and advance the value of science to the broader community.

* The Science Center is the first of a multi-phase addition to the science complex that will reconnect existing buildings and foster interdisciplinary scientific discourse.

* The realized scheme reflects a preference for ambitious growth, select renovations, and a complement of strategic interventions phased over time.

* The project is defined by the "River" a multi-level pedestrian pathway that cascades from upper to lower campus, opening the sciences to the larger university community. It is here where the material palette of the building is its most expressive with interior and exterior systems entwined. …
