Project Highlights

* This project transformed 95-year-old Gilman Hall, iconic center of university, into a modern, environmentally sustainable facility for the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences.

* The renovation transforms the central light well into a covered atrium, a social commons at the heart of the campus, replaces 25,000sf of library stacks with usable academic space making it possible to reassemble all 10 humanities departments in one place, and adds 14,000sf of museum and lecture halls.

* An accelerated construction plan made it possible to complete the entire project in 24 months and constructing in one phase saved costs and freed up funds for higher level finishes.

* A new circulation system fosters community and exceeds code requirements for safety and accessibility. …
