The Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA) offers 60- to 90-minute webinars on a variety of topics related to assistive technology. The complete live broadcast schedule is available online at . One of the upcoming webinars is entitled "Challenges to Using Apps as Assistive Technology," by Dan Herlihy, an assistive technology resource specialist for Connective Technology Solutions. Scheduled to take place August 14, 2012, the webinar is intended to examine various iPad apps (applications) to see if and how they meet the needs of assistive technology users and the professionals who serve them. Professionals who evaluate apps for their effectiveness and assistive technology and developers who create apps are encouraged to attend to learn what aspects of such apps make them viable as assistive technology. "Implementing AT in the Classroom," by Kelly Fonner, a consultant for Fonner Consuiting & Training, will be offered October 22, 2012.
