HETSA 2013 Conference: Perth, 3 to 6 July 2013

The conference sessions will commence on Thursday, 4 July, and will run through to lunch time on Saturday, 6 July. The conference will be convened in the Business School at The University of Western Australia, on the edge of the beautiful Swan River. The HETSA conference reception will be held on the evening of Wednesday evening, 3 July.

All members of HETSA, especially the younger members of our Society, are encouraged to present their research at this conference; but the conference is not limited to HETSA members. Contributors to the History of Economic Thought from other HET Societies around the world are also most welcome to register and to participate at this conference. We are very fortunate to have three eminent keynote speakers for the 2013 HETSA Conference:

Steven Medema, University of Colorado, Denver

Topic: The Coase Theorem and the (Re)Birth of 'Law and Economics': Disciplinary Battles and Contested Boundaries in the 1970s Professor Steven Medema's research focuses on the history of twentiethcentury economics, and his latest book The Hesitant Hand (Princeton, 2009), was awarded the 2010 Book Prize by the European Society for the History of Economic Thought. He has served as Editor of the Journal of the History of Economic Thought (1999-2008) and was elected President of the History of Economics Society for 2009-2010. …
