Comparative Education on the Map of Teacher Preparation Programme in Kuwait

Comparative education represents one of the main topics and important subject included in the teacher preparation Programme in most countries of the wt Importance of this subject for future teachers, lies in the fact that, it repress a window through which learners look at other systems to know how they are managed and what sort of policies and educational philosophies control U systems of education.

In respect to the vital role that comparative education play the enlightenment of future teachers, David H. Kames & Connie L. McNealy, 2009 Despite critics and controversies, it appears that international testing and national assessment have become relatively commonplace across different countries. Moreover these initiatives are works in progress, however, and one can expect the related methodology, as well as the breadth of the testing subject matter, to evolve. These alternations and changes were imposed upon systems of education because of accelerated rates of technological progress and accumulation of information. This, in turn, required sponsors of education in all countries to go out their local scope exchange experience with other systems of education and keep in touch international trends. Comparative education comes at the head of the sciences may help in achieving this goal. More details about the importance comparative education for teacher preparation, will be touched upon later on w tackling the objectives of comparative education.

Having a quick look at the prospectus of the faculty of education in Kuwait University and that of the faculty of basic education in the Public Authority Education and Training, one finds no sign of the subject of comparative education on the map of teacher preparations programmes in these institutions responsible teacher education in Kuwait. Here lies the problem of the current study.

Problem of the Study:

Problem of the current study can be summarized in the following questions:

1. What are the main sates that comparative education has gone through until it reaches the current situation?

2. What are the main stages that comparative education has gone through until it reaches the current situation?

3. what does comparative education mean for teacher education?

4. what is the current situation of comparative education on the map of teacher preparation programmers in Kuwait?

5. How can comparative education be implemented as a studying subject to enrich the teacher preparation Programme in Kuwait.

Methodology:

The method implemented here is the descriptive-analytical approach, through which problem of this study will be tackled. Description of comparative education as a science and how it has developed through different stage, what are its objectives and how far it can contribute to the enrichment of teacher preparation Programme in Kuwait, will be introduced. Added to this, analysis of the problem dimensions of nonexistence of comparative education as a studying subject on the map of teacher education Programme in Kuwait will be investigated. Some suggested solutions for such a problem are supposed to be introduced at the end of this study.

Purpose and Importance of the Study:

The ultimate purpose of this study is to show out to sponsors of teacher education programmes, the importance of comparative education as a studying subject for teacher preparation. Importance of this study lies in the fact that, comparative education being considered as one of the main subjects taught in faculties of education as a part of teacher preparation programe is not there on the map of teacher preparations programmes in Kuwait.

This study will draw the attention of academics and teacher preparation Programme designers to this fact. As well, this study will introduce some dynamics faculties of education as a part of teacher preparations programe, through which the subject of comparative education can be implemented in teacher preparations in Kuwait. …
