About half of Americans evaluate their present situation as excellent or good, but positive assessments are not as strong as they were before the 2008 financial crisis. College graduates and those with a postgraduate degree are more likely to give a positive evaluation.

Non-whites are much more likely than whites to say that their personal financial situation is getting better. Forty-two percent of non-whites say their current situation is excellent or good, but 60 percent think it is going to get better.
