This resource was launched at the 24th Biennial Conference of the AAAMT, Mathematics: Launching Futures, which was held in July in Melbourne. Approximately 400 delegates were there to benefit from the professionally stimulating and varied program. The conference was a great success and provided an opportunity for mathematics teachers from around Australia and other countries to engage in professional learning activities.

This issue of The Australian Mathematics Teacher features some of the papers presented at the conference. The papers represent the variety of the program and and feature practising mathematics teachers as contributing authors. While there were a number of engaging keynote presentations, the one by Kathryn Palmer, A Time to Reflect Before We Launch Forward, used her personal journey to highlight elements she has identified as being integral to successful mathematics education. …
