Meeting the Challenge

Article excerpt

It is always good to know where you are going and what you hope to achieve along the way. This is ASTA's roadmap for the next five years, in which we have visualised our future destination, painted a picture of that future destination based on current trends and set out to influence the forces that will affect us along the way.

This plan will allow us to be proactive in addressing issues around science education, provide better awareness of our members' needs, define the overall mission of ASTA and focus on our goals. It will provide a sense of direction, continuity, a focus on effective staffing and leadership, and provides standards of accountability for people, programs and allocated resources.

In developing the strategic plan we have reviewed our vision, mission and goals, performed an environmental scan and defined our strategies.

Please take your time to read this plan and join us in our commitment to advocating on behalf of science teachers and supporting science education across Australia.
