Welcome to the first edition in my new role as Editor of the Journal of Rehabilitation (JOR). It is an honor to serve the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA) and its membership in this capacity. I have had a long standing history with JOR beginning when I was a student in the Rehabilitation Counseling Masters Program and continuing over the years through my involvement as a reader, author, and member of the editorial board. The Journal of Rehabilitation is a premier journal held in utmost regard by researchers and practitioners and is well-known as the go to source for state of the art information in the field of rehabilitation. Credit for this accomplishment goes to the impressive editorial board, dedicated staff, and the previous outstanding editors.

Two people deserve special recognition for their professionalism, hard work, and tireless contributions toward making JOR the success it is today. Paul Alston and Steve Sligar, the previous co-Editors, shared their commitment and visionary leadership to profoundly impact the growth, quality, and rigor of the Journal. They have certainly raised the bar and left big shoes to step into. …
