Do you have a new teacher who must teach a unit on rocks, soil, and erosion? Do you need a detailed plan based on the Integrated Curriculum Model? If so, this book would be wonderful for you.

It is designed for high-ability third and fourth graders, but I found that it would be useful for all third- and fourth-grade students. It did not seem to be particularly challenging, though it did focus on the higher-order thinking skills. Each lesson is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards and is a research-based differentiated curriculum. The first section gives great background on the research used to design the book. There are helpful charts and explanations. The authors then open the book with a unit on safety to ensure all students understand the rules that scientists in the classroom must follow. …
