Named after IRI's founder, the Holland Award is presented each year to the authors of the paper published in the previous year's volume of Research-Technology Management that best exemplifies the journal's values of significance to the field of RdD and innovation management, originality of new management concepts, and excellence in presentation.

The Industrial Research Institute (IRI) announced the winners of its prestigious Holland Award during a reception and dinner at its Member Summit in Denver, Colorado, on October 15, 2014. The award went to Ray O. Johnson, CTO, and John D. Evans, Vice President of International Engineering and Technology, both of Lockheed Martin.

The winning article, "Tools for Managing Early-Stage Business Model Innovation," was published in the September/ October 2013 edition of RTM. The article describes a two-stage approach to evaluating early-stage ideas that will require business model innovation. …
