Be a PDK Emerging Leader

Article excerpt

The class of 2014-15 PDK Emerging Leaders spent a busy weekend in December in Washington, D.C., meeting with education policy makers and leaders, including U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. As leaders in schools, outside programs, and policy shops, as well as in higher education teaching and research, this talented group spent time networking with each other, sharing insights, strategies, and stories.

Now it's your turn--if you're making a difference in education and want to take your career to a new level. The PDK Emerging Leader program is open to PDK members in good standing who are innovators, thought leaders, problem solvers, and change agents age 40 or younger who are working to improve K-12 education. Award winners are selected from a competitive class of applicants based on their outstanding professional accomplishments.

In addition to the exclusive two-day professional development conference in the nation's capital, Emerging Leader benefits include:

* The opportunity to publish with PDK;

* Access to international travel scholarships;

* Invitations to participate in various PDK initiatives; and

* Extensive networking opportunities.

Application information will be available in early spring 2015 at www. …
