You can read a number of books written about extreme weather events, but what make this book stand out is that it combines information for early elementary-age students about tornadoes with information about how to prepare for such an event. This is done without making such events scarier than they are for young readers.

The book is divided into two sections. The first explains when, why, and where tornadoes occur, while the second section provides information about what to do in case there is a tornado.
