Artist's Statement

Article excerpt

MY WORK DRAWS ON MANY SOURCES: personal experiences, dreams, travel, and references to the artwork of others. Human activity of all kinds interests me.

I am a swimmer and rower, and these pastimes are reflected in many of my paintings. Drawing is always paramount in my work; but I am also very interested in what color can do. Color represents an endless area of exploration in its emotive power, and I find myself more and more engaged in it. Color and light--they are for me components of the same phenomenon.
