With This Issue, Notes Bids Farewell to Leslie Andersen, Who for a Decade Has Edited the "Video Reviews" Column

Article excerpt

With this issue, Notes bids farewell to Leslie Andersen, who for a decade has edited the "Video Reviews" column. So much has changed in music libraries and for our users since Leslie began editing her column: at that time, libraries were able purchase videorecordings on DVD but were not necessarily ready to replace collections on videotape; we were experiencing the nascent stages of sound streaming, and YouTube had only just been founded; BlackBerry smartphones were on the market but iPhones did not appear until 2007, translating into the fact that iTunes had not yet appeared and the broad use of apps had not yet been evidenced.

Thank you, Leslie, for your many years of service to Notes, and to you, Stephen, for your willingness to expand your column's perspective.

Special thanks go to our colleagues whose articles in this issue address questions on a theme related to sound: What will it take to build collections of sound in the future? …
