Carl Nielsen 2015-150 Years.

Musical life in Denmark has been strongly engaged in the celebration of the 150th birthday of Danish composer Carl Nielsen (1865-1931) in 2015. Carl Nielsen's influence on Danish and foreign music and musical life has been commemorated by events, publications, new compositions, new arrangements of his works, etc. Music libraries have played a big role in many of these activities together with museums, orchestras, music academies, broadcasting institutions, and many others.

The event Web Site, found at www.carlnielsen.org is, in itself, an innovative creation of the Nielsen year combining an "interactive" event calendar with work list, pictures, video, biography, and direct links to the work database: Catalogue of Carl Nielsen's Works (CNW). The catalogue contains information about editions, manuscripts, sketches, letters, scores, etc. It provides a free downloadable and printable version of the complete Carl Nielsen Edition (CNU) as well as a list of relevant letters from the edition of his correspondence, Carl Nielsen Brevudgaven (CNB), which was completed in January 2015. …
