Back in the 1990s, my colleague and I developed and implemented the GT program using Renzulli and Reis' Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM). We developed Type I activities (speakers and brown bag lunches on a variety of topics) for the whole school, developed Type II process and skill activities with teachers, and helped kids create Type III individual and group research projects and presentations.

If you are not schooled in SEM, this book will explain and give examples of Type I, II, and III activities in detail and explain the philosophy behind the program. "Did You Know?" sections present a short summary of relevant research to the chapter topic at hand, while Christy's Corner follows a teacher as she learns about and implements the model in her classroom. Chapters include an introduction to SEM, an overview of the technology added in, and a method to identify talent in your students. The remainder of the book outlines Type I, II, and III activities in detail, explaining the purpose and concept of the Triad Enrichment Model, integrating technology in a meaningful way, and promoting student initiative and productivity.
