This is a unique online product useful to advanced students--a web journal that lives up to its "wow" factor. The producers of The Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) call their website "a peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed journal devoted to the publication of biological, medical, chemical, and physical research in a video format." What this translates to is an online collection of videos for specific experimental protocols for specific types of research.

For example, an oncologist studying influences on tumor cell propagation might view the video "article" entitled "Three-dimensional Cell Culture Model for Measuring the Effects of Interstitial Fluid Flow on Tumor Cell Invasion" and actually watch scientists demonstrate their methodology. The viewer can also download the materials and technical instructions for the protocol. Thousands of discipline-specific videos exist in six major categories: general science, neuroscience, immunology and infection, clinical and translational medicine, bio-engineering, and applied physics. …
