This book finds itself at the nexus of inquiry-based science and nutrition.

The book brings together several key stakeholders to make that happen (including the Linking Food and the Environment program from Columbia University and KidsGardening.Org) and was supported with a Science Education and Partnership Award from the National Center for Research Resources. The activities in this book have been pilot tested to ensure successful and informative use within the classroom.

The units are wide reaching in scope ranging from "Investigating Our Choices" to "From Data to Heath Goals" to the "Effects of Our Choices." Within each unit are individual lessons that help the reader select key points, around which he or she can provide instruction. While it could be used as a standalone curriculum for a nutrition sciences course, the lessons can be excerpted and used in other existing sequences of instruction. …
