New Software and Web Hosting Services Boost School Web Technology

Scantron Corporation and Intranet Communications Corporation have announced the release of IntraSchool and HomeRooms. IntraSchool is a Web server software environment that provides a simple, secure content definition and deployment model for school and school district wide Web sites. It allows teachers and administrators with basic word processing skills to be web content managers and publishers.

"I see a tremendous benefit in IntraSchool's ability to help me publish our school accountability report cards on the Web, which will be required by law in the state of California for those schools with a Web site," said Alan Trudell, public information specialist at Garden Grove Unified School District. Trudell goes on to say that "a district of our size has little control over the Web content that is published. IntraSchool enforces a consistent look and feel to our Web site and allows any teacher who has passed our IntraSchool training course to post class information, Internet links and homework assignments on the Web."

Currently, over 200 schools in California, Colorado and Washington are using IntraSchool. …
