Hosted by Robin Williams, Learn & Live is a one-hour documentary showcasing innovative schools across America. The show is a co-production of The George Lucas Educational Foundation (GLEF) and State of the Art, Inc., located in Washington, D.C., and is directed by Academy Award-winning director Gerardine Wurzburg.

"The public education system in America was created in a simpler time," says host Williams in the film's opening segment. But, as the film suggests, the seeds of a revitalized educational system are being planted in schools and communities from coast to coast. Examples from Seattle, San Diego, Des Moines and Boston illustrate what public education can be like when students are challenged and engaged, have access to interactive technologies and benefit from the involvement of parents and the broader community.

"I've been interested in education for a long time, since before I had children," said George Lucas. "In a situation where you have children, the imperative of improving the educational system becomes much more acute." The production also contains valuable insights about how children learn most effectively. …
