Robert L. Anders, DrPH, RN, CS, received the 1998 American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Award for Excellence in Education for his "consistent creativity, scholarship, and humanistic approach to facilitating the development of individual students at the graduate and undergraduate levels."

Carolyn Billings, MSN, RN, CS, received the 1998 APNA Award for Excellence in Practice for her "promotion of excellence in clinical practice through her commitment, creativity, expertise, and compassion as an expert clinician and mentor for psychiatric nurse." She conducts a private practice in Raleigh, NC.

Elizabeth Wackerman Carter, DrPH, MS, RN, received the 1998 APNA Award for Excellence in Leadership for her "exemplary leadership abilities in the areas of practice, education, and management in the field of psychiatric nursing." She is former Deputy Director of the New York State Nurses Association.

Ernest D. LaPierre, DSN, has relocated from Washington to Trenton, NJ, where he is Director of the Campus Wellness Program at the College of New Jersey.

Suzanne Lego, PHD, RN, CS, CGP, FAAN, has been named the 1998 APNA Psychiatric Nurse of the Year for her "major contribution to advancing the psychiatric mental health nursing specialty for over 30 years through her vision about excellence in clinical practice. She conducts a private practice in Pittsburgh and Kent, Ohio.

Mary Ann Nihart, MA, RN, CS, has assumed a faculty position at the University of California, San Francisco, and is a consultant for the State of California, helping set standards for residential psychiatric care. …
