Magically, Inc. announced the availability of a fully integrated, cross-platform virtual desktop. The Web-based service, called MagicalDesk.com, is now available online at www.magicaldesk. com and is free to users. It allows users to work from virtually anywhere and includes a file management system, synchronization feature, e-mail, calendar, address book, to do list and Internet bookmarks.

Integrated support for common document file formats empowers the user to work from any PC, Mac, Unix system, Web-TV or kiosk, and still access all files, e-mail and Internet bookmarks, even when not possessing the right application (such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint or Lotus 1-2-3) on the machine in use. Personal productivity applications can be tailored for personal use, creating a Web-based file access system that is both private and secure.

The e-mail system supports standard SMTP and POP3 Internet protocols, allowing it to be used as a front end to multiple e-mail accounts. E-mails can then be converted into MagicalDesk to-do items or calendar events. Users can easily transfer files from their "hard" desktop to their MagicalFiles or vice versa, its document management system allows users to copy, move, backup or share documents created with desktop applications. …
