Network members met with Congresswoman Nita Lowrey of Dobbs Ferry, Westchester County, NY, to lobby for Medicare regulations that do not require supervision or collaboration with a physician for reimbursement of Advanced Practice Nurses.

On November 8 Beth Moses, MSN, RN, CS, presented a continuing education program "Managed Care Survival Strategies for the Nurse Psychotherapist in Private Practice."

A membership satisfaction survey of 17 members revealed the following responses:

1. Satisfied with newsletter?

Yes: 13. Somewhat: 1. No: 0.

2. Value subscription to Perspectives in Psychiatric Care: The Journal for Nurse Psychotherapists as a benefit?

Yes: 12. Somewhat: 1. No: 0.

3. Attended Network program in the past 2 years?

Yes: 9. No: 6. Reasons for nonattendance: Want to spend time with family, inconvenient meeting location.

4. Support efforts to collaborate with other advanced practice groups?

Yes: 15.

5. Support change of Network name to "Network of New York Advanced Practice Nurses?

Yes: 8. No: 6.

6. Believe R&B and board members respond to requests in a timely manner?
