Education Councils

The Executive Committees of the Education Councils have been meeting via conference calls during the summer. Their primary focus has been the establishment of goals for the 1999-2001 biennium. As goals are agreed upon, they are posted on the NLN website in the Council section.

* CADP, the Council of Associate Degree Programs, has three primary goals for this biennium: to design and offer seamless articulation/mobility models; to support AD educators by offering professional development opportunities; and to preserve the heritage of AD nursing, which will be 50 years old in 2002. Dr. Jodi Parks-Doyle is the CADP elected governor, and Patricia Irons is chair of the Executive Committee.

* CBHDP, the Council of Baccalaureate and Higher Degree Programs, has reappointed an Educational Standards Committee with Dr. Joyce Murray as chair. Dr. Sara Barger is the CBHDP elected governor and chair of the Executive Committee.

* The CDP, Council of Diploma Programs, elected governor is Joan L. Frey. Louise M. DeBlois is chair of the Executive Committee.

* Annitta O. Love is the CPNP, the Council of Practical Nursing Programs, elected governor. Shirley LeDane is chair of the Executive Committee.
