Context: Robotics is an evolving field that is having a significant impact on our society by enhancing our lives through the use of agricultural applications, self-driving vehicles, prosthetics, and much more!

Course Objective: The Advanced Technological Applications high school course has students learn about the five components of the Designed World: Engineering Design Graphics and Spatial Skills, Cybersecurity, Biotechnology, Information Technology, and Robotics. Each of these units has students participate in multiple design challenges where they apply what they learned to a specific situation. Students learn how technological systems are designed and developed by using specific criteria.

Challenge: Within one of the primary challenges titled Electromechanical Robotics, students synthesize what they learned from previous lessons in the robotics unit and apply it to create a responsive self-driving car that navigates a grid. Students must apply their computational thinking skills, use of flow chart diagrams, programing basics, and
