JOSEPH PARKER GRIFFIN 1944-2000

Joe Griffin, Managing Editor of volume 3 of Law and Policy in International Business, died on February 20 of this year. It is fitting that this issue of the journal is dedicated to his memory, as he was an outstanding graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, a remarkable international lawyer, and embodied personal qualities worthy of emulation by law students and lawyers alike.

Joe, who was my friend, had been a partner of the law firm of Arent, Fox, Kintner, Plotkin & Kahn, managing partner of Wald, Harkrader & Ross, and international administrative partner of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, of which he was a partner at the time of his death. He was chairman of the Section of International Law & Practice of the American Bar Association from 1987 to 1988, a member of the Secretary of State's Advisory Committee on Private International Law from 1987 to 1997, a member of the American Law Institute, a board member and executive committee member of the International Law Institute, and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of this journal. …
