Macromedia, Inc, has developed a curriculum guide to help high school and middle school teachers use Web multimedia with their students in several academic disciplines, such as writing, social studies and earth sciences. The curriculum guide, Project-Based Multimedia, Step-by-Step Projects for Integrating Multimedia into Your Classroom is the first curriculum guide in Macromedia's new Web Design Series. Five educational projects, such as Web site design and digital autobiographies, include planning guides, step-by-step instructions, and assessment suggestions, The materials are available from Macromedia at www.macromedia.com/education.

Syntax Communication Group's new interactive division, EduTalk, provides a communications service that offers automated voice, fax, and e-mail broadcasting for school libraries and districts. The user friendly service lets a district official accumulate names, phone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses in a spreadsheet format; the program will then process and download the data. A representative of the district then records a verbal or written message, followed by a brief phone call designating the time for the message to be sent. …
