New Program Available for Students of Health Policy. (Fellowship Opportunity)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and the Academy for Health Services Research and Health Policy (Academy) are currently requesting applications for a new program, the NCHS/Academy Health Policy Fellowship. The fellowship is designed to foster collaboration between NCHS and the health services research community, using NCHS data systems to study issues of concern to health policymakers.

Doctoral students, recent graduates of doctoral programs, and junior faculty are encouraged to apply to this program. Fellows will conduct their research at NCHS in Hyattsville, Maryland. In addition, the program offers a variety of collaborative opportunities with the academy.

Applicants must demonstrate training and/or experience in health services research and methodology, reflecting disciplines such as public health, public administration, health care administration, statistics, sociology, economics, behavioral sciences, or the health professions (e.g., medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacology, etc.).

Doctoral student applicants must have completed course work and have an approved dissertation topic. Post-doctoral and health professional applicants must have received their degrees within the last 5 years. …
