Scholarships and Fellowships for Nurse Educators. (News from the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education)
Applications are now being accepted for scholarships and fellowships offered by the NLN through the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education. This program is funded in part by a grant from Johnson & Johnson to the foundation and by funds raised from local events in major cities as part of Johnson & Johnson's Campaign for Nursing's Future. An application packet is available on the NLN website, www.nln.org.
Applications for both the NLN Nurse Educator Scholarship Program and the NLN Nursing Faculty Fellowship Program must be postmarked on or before June 1, 2002. Awards are being granted for the fall 2002 term. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of the review process by July 15.
The purpose of the NLN Nurse Educator Scholarship Program is to ensure adequate numbers of nursing faculty who are prepared to assume the full scope of the educator role. Awards up to $5,000 will be granted to support part-time study and $10,000 to support full-time study in a master's or post-master's program that is designed to prepare individuals for a nurse educator role in an academic setting. Individual membership in the NLN or admission to/enrollment in a graduate program offered by an NLN member school is required.
The purpose of the NLN Nursing Faculty Fellowship Program is to ensure adequate numbers of doctorally prepared nursing faculty who are exceptionally well prepared to assume the full scope of the educator role and to provide leadership in shaping the future of nursing education. …
