Diane Kovacs has done it again! She has produced an excellent resource for librarians as well as genealogists. Comparable to her How to Find Medical Information on the Internet (Library Solutions Press, 2000), this book gives the reader a tutorial and activities to follow to gather genealogical information.

The book is divided into four parts covering the basics of genealogical research; how to find and use the material on the Internet; how to network with others doing genealogical research; and how to locate international, African American, and Native American ancestors, as well as heraldry and lineage societies. There is also a free Web site (www.kovacs. com/genbook/genbook.html) that readers may use for hands-on activities, as well as an address to e-mail the author. Registration is required.

As you work your way through the book, the material is well-organized in a user-friendly format. There are illustrations of the actual Web sites as well as "success stories" interjected periodically to encourage the reader to continue their Internet research. …
