This is the last issue of Geographical Analysis during my term as Editor. The new Editor, Alan Murray, will take over with the first issue of 2003. It has been my pleasure to serve and to bring some of the best research taking place in geography, regional science, and other related disciplines, to the community of scholars during the past seven years.

First, I would like to thank the subscribers and readers of Geographical Analysis. I hope that you have found the published work presented in Geographical Analysis over the last seven years to be useful for your research endeavors as well as for our common interest in advancing the spatial sciences. All evidence points to a vibrant readership and an increasing impact as measured by citations. Plans are in progress for archival copies of the journal to be made available online through JSTOR (www.jstor.com).

Second, I express appreciation to the authors who sent in manuscripts. This appreciation includes authors who "revised and resubmitted," and took seriously the advice of the many referees who have helped improve the clarity and depth of results. I have consistently been impressed with the willingness of our colleagues to perform the job of referee for papers and we have benefited enormously from the wise counsel of countless referees over the years. …
