Merrill M. Hawkins Jr. This issue welcomes Merrill Hawkins Jr., assistant professor, department of religion, Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, Tennessee, as the new editor of BH&H.

Karen Bullock, assistant professor of church history, Southwestern Baptist theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, will deliver the Herschel H. and Frances Hobbs Lecture on Baptist History during the Spring 1999 semester at Oklahoma Baptist University.

W. Morgan Patterson, guest professor at Florida Baptist Theological College, taught church history in the Fall semester and will teach two courses in the Spring semester 1999.

Alan Lefever, SBHS president and director of the Texas Baptist Historical Collection, wrote a historical supplement for the Baptist Standard to observe the founding of the first Baptist state convention in Texas.

Deborah Bingham Van Broekhoven is the executive director of the American Baptist Historical Society, beginning September 1, 1998. She succeeds Beverly Carlson.

Seminary presidents' papers available. The papers of E. Y. Mullins and A. T. Robertson are now available on microfiche to researchers at the Southern Baptist Historical Library and Archives in Nashville. Foundations Pamphlets. The SBHS is negotiating to translate the Foundations of Baptist Heritage into Spanish and Chinese. The ten-pamphlet series is an outstanding collection of essays on important distinctives of Baptists authored by some of the denomination's finest historians. …
