With this issue of CaGIS, I am passing on the Editorship to Professor Lynn Usery, who is affilicated with the University of Georgia and USGS. Two major changes have occurred during my tenure. First, we have moved from snail-mail to electronic submissions and reviews. One outcome of this is that we are able to reduce the interval between submission of a paper and when it actually appears in print. One bottleneck that we still face, however, is getting reviewers to complete there reviews in a timely fashion. Thus, if you are a reviewer, you will make Lynn's job much easier if you respond by the deadline he sets for your review.

The other major change is that with this issue we are implementing the electronic distribution of the journal through Ingenta. I am sure that it will take us some time to get the kinks worked out, but both Lynn and I are excited about the opportunities this new service will provide for our readership.

I would like to thank all of those who have assisted me during the course of my editorship. Robert McMaster and David Bennett provided valuable guidance as Associate Editors. The work of the Editorial Board was critical in insuring that published papers would meet the high-quality standards that our readership expects. …
