Dol Issues Advisory regarding Filing Date of Union Reporting Forms Lm-10 and Lm-30

The Department of Labor's Office of LaborManagement Standards (OLMS) has engaged in initiatives in 2005 and 2006 to educate employers and labor organization officers and employees about the circumstances under which they are required to file Form LM-10 and Form LM-30, respectively. These reports are due within 90 days after the end of the filer's fiscal year. Many filers have a fiscal year ending date of December 31, which means that their 2005 report is due by March 31,2006. OLMS posted a Form LM-10 advisory on its Web site atwww.olms.dol.gov on November 10,2005. The Department subsequently received numerous inquiries relating to the reporting requirements, particularly concerning Form LM-10. On March 7, 2006, OLMS posted on its Web site extensive additional Frequently Asked Questions about Form LM-10, some of which also relate to Form LM-30. …
