Oct. 16: King 'Abdullah announced the creation of a National security Council headed by Prince Bandar Bin Sultan, former Ambassador to the United States. The council was created as part of 'Abdullah's national strategy to fight terrorism, through which massive assaults against al-Qa'ida cells within the nation had already been launched. [GN, 10/16]
