This edition of two glossaries (Montpellier, Ecole de Medecine, MS Hz36 and Paris, Bibliotheque Nationale, MS latin 7684) makes available, in a format which can only be described as opulent (the book is bigger than either of the manuscripts whose contents it presents), a considerable body of glossarial evidence of potential interest to lexicographers of medieval Latin and French alike. The first text, edited by Anne Grondeux, H236, features a glossary of 4,285 entries in all, a quarter of which are translated. A French-Latin index in the margins of the MS makes of it effectively a two-way dictionary. Likely provenance is a scholastic milieu in Picardy (p. 12). BnF 7684 (ed.
