THIS is the 8th edition in 26 years of this authoritative book, and it is easy to understand the appeal. This is a text study book in its true sense: the sharp, yet precise style means that key concepts and principles are summarised and set out in a format which can be easily accessed for reference. In turn, the guidance is clear, and can be used for study or reportage in the workplace.

There is no attempt to make this an easy read, because this is not a topic with an end: Health and Safety continues to develop. Consequently, the author Jeremy Stranks, simply points to:
