The Annual Graduation Ceremony of the IAM Ireland Branch took place in Belfast on Saturday 2oth October 2ooi. Graduands and their families travelled from throughout the country to the Europa Hotel for this celebrated occasion, which proved to be a great social success, as well as one which honoured a wide variety of achievements in the field of Administrative Management.

More than 50 people graduated in the Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma Awards of the Institute. Patricia Haren achieved a BA(Hons) in Administrative Management while Elena Aceves-Cully, from Spain, received the International Advanced Diploma.

Awards were also made for Best Overall Performance in IAM examinations - Barbara Ellen Regan for her Certificate in Administrative Management paper, Ricci Louise Jackson in the Diploma category and Dale Ashford for the Best Advanced Diploma submission.

In addition Fellowships were conferred on 3 IAM Members who had contributed special service to the Institute in Ireland over many years (see panel).

The colourfal ceremony was witnessed by an audience of aoo, including relatives and friends whose support and encouragement for the successful candidates has been invaluable on their road to academic success.

The proceedings were honoured by the presence of three Guests of Honour. Lord Peston, Vice-President of the Institute, presented the Awards, while the graduands were welcomed by Mike Turner, Chairman of Chief Examiners. Duncan Ross, Chairman of Council, also officiated at the Presentation.

All the main IAM Providers were represented at the Ceremony.
