This bibliography, covering essentially material from 1970 to 1990 but `with many items from 1991 to 1994' (p. xi), concentrates on the lyrics of the trou?ven.res but excludes non-musical genres , such as con es, saluts, etc. This is a great pity since their inclusion would not have added immensely to the overall size of the book and would have meant that the essential items relating to any of the trouveres in any of their productions could have been found here. The bibliography is selective and does not pretend to inclusiveness except where significant editions, translations and critical studies are concerned. On the other hand, reviews are excluded except for those which offer an important addition to the work under discussion. The items are classified according to 'genre' and form as well as author, and the earlier sections are devoted to research tools, the manuscripts, a selection of anthologies, and works on literary history.
