At what level do you promote tolerance towards different groups in your classroom? Read on and see at what level you (and your department) are incorporating diversity into the curriculum.

Level 1. Content integration. Instructors illuminate key points with content reflecting diversity. Using the additive approach, the curriculum remains unchanged, but special topics are added.

Level 2. Knowledge construction. Teachers help students understand how certain academic disciplines influence perspectives on different people.

Level 3. Prejudice reduction. Instructors consistently use positive images of racial and ethnic minorities, in order to counteract negative attitudes and stereotypes.
