THE time required to successfully integrate a manager into a new position takes longer than the 90 day 'Honeymoon' period traditionally associated with the process. New research by RHR International Company, a world leader in executive and organisational development, introduces a new approach to Executive Integration. "While the first three months are very important, our studies show that they are only the beginning of a multi-stage process, " says Jeff Durocher, Vice President of Market Development.

While current models focus on the first 90 days in a new position, RHR's study indicates that the full integration process actually takes 12 to 18 months. According to a team of RHR consultants, new managers progress through four distinct stages:

* 'Honeymoon' (the traditional 90 days);

* 'Reality' (4-6 months);

* 'Adjustment' (7-12 months); and

* 'Integration' (12-18+months). …
