The Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) Institute of Education Centre for Quality, Innovation & Support celebrated its launch and achievement of ISO 9001:2000 on 19 July 2006.

MMU is a major contractor of the National College for School Leadership (NCSL) for the Bursar Development Programme. All successful candidates (3000 to date) become Graduate Members of the IAM. In order to guarantee quality of service across 7 Government Office Regions, MMU opted to seek ISO Accreditation.

The Centre was formed in 2004 by its Director, Ray Moorcroft, (who of course is also Editor of Manager) and Administrative Manager, Angela Mann, to be utilised as a development centre for the Institute of Education (as part of the Centre for Educational Leadership, which delivers Leadership and Management Programmes).

Two years on, the Centre for Quality, Innovation & Support has become established with a central office at MMU Cheshire, and over 80 regional personnel across England. Its focus is the development of School Business Management with the Centre delivering the Certificate for School Business Management on behalf of NCSL, and recently the BA(Hons) in School Business Management developed by MMU. …
