It is a privilege and an honor for the Anglican Theological Review to begin Volume 89 with the proceedings of the Third International Conference on Afro-Anglicanism, held July 20-27, 2005 in Toronto, Canada. (The ATR published the proceedings of the second conference in Volume 77 # 4, 1995, ) It is also an honor and a prnilege to have the Rev. Canon Harold T. Lewis as guest editor once again. Dr. Lewis has been a leader of the Afro-Anglican movement since before the first conference in 1985, and is uniquely qualified to give an overview of this important movement, as he does in his Editor's Introduction. We are also grateful to the many people who participated in creating this issue. Those who provided financial support are listed in the journal. We thank them for their generosity.

It is a pleasure to announce the winner of this year's Charles Hefling Student Essay Competition: Kathryn L. Reinhard, an MDiv student at Berkeley Divinity School at Yale and an ordinand in the Diocese of New York. …
