Retired NER Board President. Dr. F. C. Richardson, Chancellor Emeritus of Indiana University Southeast, retired from NER's editorial board after 34 years of service. He was elected to the board in 1971 and served in various roles including that of proposal developer and fund raiser. Dr. Richardson served as NER's editorial board president for 10 years, beginning in 1996 and ending with his retirement in 2005.

New NER President of Editorial Board. Dr. Mac A. Stewart, Special Assistant to the President for Diversity and Vice Provost of Minority Affairs, The Ohio State University, and former Editor-in-Chief of NER, was elected President of the NER Board of Editors at the Board of Editors conference held at Prairie View A&M University on April 7, 2006.

New NER Editor-in-Chief. Dr. Alice M. Scales, Professor of Education, School of Education, University of Pittsburgh; and NER Associate Executive Editor since 1998, Director of Program and Conferences, and elected as Co-Interim Managing Editor of NER in 2005, was elected to the office of Editor-in-Chief of NER on April 7, 2006 at the Board of Editors conference held at Prairie View A&M University.

New NER Associate Executive Editor. Dr. William B. Harvey, Vice President and Chief Officer for Diversity and Equity, University of Virginia; and NER Director of Membership was elevated to the Executive Editors category of The Negro Educational Review on May 23, 2006 during the Executive Editors committee meeting. …
