IAM Presents Award to the Royal Navy

Mike Turner, Chairman of Council of the Institute of Administrative Management, recently presented an award to a Royal Navy Officer in recognition of his achievements during professional training.

Lieutenant (Lt) Dave Thompson, who is currently serving at the Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, was the winner of the prize donated by the Institute as the student who displayed the best qualities of personal endeavour, diligence and tenacity during Initial Logistics Officer Training.

His citation reads: " It was evident from the moment Lt Thompson arrived that he intended to get the maximum out of the course. He is naturally confident, diligent and utterly dependable and was always willing to help his course members, using his extensive previous experience. Lt Thompson is a most professional and well rounded Naval Officer and is the very embodiment of this award."

Commander Phil Waterhouse, Commandant of the DMLS, said: "We remain very grateful to all the organisations that support the Defence Maritime Logistics School and were pleased that so many were able to join us for the ceremony to present their awards. …
