The United Nations call it "an area of concern". The Khyber Pass is well known to British servicemen; it has played an important part in their history as it occupies a strategic position on the Silk Road, linking China to the west.

Situated just two minutes car journey from the pass is the Schunaizia Relief and Development Organisation. This has been established to provide educational facilities to people from the tribal areas and to Afghan refugees. Now backed by the UN it provides iam courses - achieving excellent results in the process.

The Introductory Award is supplemented with English studies, which culminate in the London Chamber of Commerce English for Business Award. To celebrate the students' achievement in completing the course, Sir Maurice Donn was chief guest at the convocation held in Peshawar. Sir Maurice is a UK diplomat with over thirty years of experience in the field. He was given freedom of the City of New York by former US President Bill Clinton in recognition of his diplomatic service. …
